Unnati Khirsagar,
Welcome to SOY and thanks a lot for your appreciation of the blog. There is no article(s) devoted to arrangers.

Unnati,
Thanks a lot for your nice words. There is no article so far on arrangers, because it requires sepecialised information.

Greetings,
While I have read several articles from SOY over last 15 years, I have never sent any comments (although I have posted several comments in “Atul’s song a day” under pseudonym Shyam.
My background – Age 82, like songs from 50s and 60s. I may be one of your few readers whom actually saw Thokar (1953) in a theatre in a small town (probably in 1954). The only thing I remember vaguely is somewhat slim Shammi Kapoor wandering at night (probably on Marine Drive) singing the famous song Ae gham-e-dil kya karun.
Between 2000 and 2015, I had collected over 3000 mp3 songs and made an excel file giving song details including singer, md, raaga, Binaca rank, who sang in the film, etc.
During last 15 years I have met late Mr Raju Bharatan and Mr. Arunkumar Deshmukh in their residences (spent about 2 hours discussing old Hindi songs).
I once played badminton (for few minutes) with late Mr. Mahendra Kapoor in early sixties; didn’t know much about him except I knew about his songs from Navrang.
I would like to submit a post for your consideration for a guest article in SOY. Please let me know the procedure for submission.

Mr Shyam,
Nice to know you. There is no formal procedure for guest articles. Once a reader establishes himself as a good writer and having familiarity with songs, either he himself volunteers or I invite him. The only criteria is the readers should be familiar with the person.

As I gather, you have been a regular reader of the articles on SOY, but have chosen to remain silent. In that case the readers may find you a stranger.

Thank you very much for your prompt response.
I am still not clear about the procedure. Here is what I would like to know.
Is there an email address where I could send an article written in WORD format. After reviewing it, you can publish it, ask for revisions or reject it.
I realize that I am a total stranger to the readers of your blog but if the article is appropriate to your overall theme, you can at least consider it.

Perhaps you could send your reply to my email address.

Shyamji,
I couldn’t be clearer. There is a mail id ak@songsofyore.com. Let us shift our discussion to that mail id.
